Wow. That’s how I have to start this blog entry. It’s only been 2 weeks since I moved to Madrid and I found myself sitting in a room listening to one of Real Madrid’s greatest players of all time – Emilio Butragueño. As a huge football fan, I know all about Butragueño and I even played with his FIFA card for so many years growing up so this was an extremely surreal moment for me.
What amazed me the most was how invested and passionate he was in education. He talked about how he was the one who started talks within Real Madrid about potentially starting to do things related to education and fast forward 15+ years, it’s the reason why I now live in Madrid.
Butragueño’s charisma and ability to get the room involved and interested was really amazing. As someone who wants to work as the person in front of the camera, I learnt a lot from him about public speaking even though it was only an hour chat.
If in just 2 weeks I’ve already been to the Bernabeu to watch a La Liga game and met Butragueño, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds with this incredible Master’s course!
